Billing Terms
Rooam is operated by Canvas Media Limited (NZBN 9429050291939), trading as Rooam. These Billing Terms are part of our Terms of Service and explain how you're charged. All prices are shown in the app before you confirm, in New Zealand dollars including GST.
The short version. Your photo package — or your pay-per-photo order for small shoots — is paid upfront when you order. Smaller extras accrue to a monthly tab. You always see the cost before you confirm. We email a statement on the 1st of each month and charge your saved card shortly after — the exact date is in the statement. New accounts may receive a free welcome gift; a saved, verified card is needed before free allowances can be used, and verifying costs nothing.
1. Packages and pay-per-photo — paid upfront. When you place an order, your package and anything you select with it is charged to your saved card, and processing starts once payment succeeds. Pay-per-photo orders (for small shoots, up to the limit shown in the app) work the same way: the photos you order are charged upfront in one payment. If you later add edits for more photos from that shoot, those are charged at the per-photo price shown and accrue to your monthly tab.
2. Extras — your monthly tab. Some edits cost a little extra. Rather than charging tiny amounts one at a time, these accrue to a monthly tab. The price is always shown before you confirm, and confirming the edit is your acceptance of that charge. You can see your running tab any time in Profile → Billing.
3. Free allowances and card verification. The welcome gift and any other free allowances are as described in the app: personal to your account, limited to the stated project or period, no cash value. A saved payment card is needed before free allowances can be used. We may verify your card with a $0 authorisation — a check that the card is real, not a charge; nothing is billed unless you order something with a price shown. One exception: free allowances are once per customer. If they're claimed more than once — for example through multiple accounts for the same person, business, or property — the extra deliveries stop being free, and we may charge for that work at the standard prices shown in the app at the time, to your saved card or by invoice, after we tell you what we found.
4. Your statement. On the 1st of each month we close off the previous month's tab and email you an itemised statement. We then charge your saved card a few days later — the exact date is in your statement email — and email a receipt. If your tab is nil, there's no statement and no charge.
5. If a payment fails.
- Your upfront order: if a package or pay-per-photo payment doesn't succeed at checkout, nothing is processed and nothing is owed — your photos wait safely, and you can retry the payment from the app whenever you're ready.
- Your monthly statement: if a statement charge doesn't succeed we'll email you and retry. If your bank needs a quick verification step we'll email you a way to complete it. If a statement stays unpaid after our retries, new paid edits are paused until it's paid — work you've already paid for isn't affected, and paying clears the pause immediately.
6. Your card and consent. When you save a card and accept these Billing Terms, you authorise us to charge that card for your upfront orders, and for your monthly statement total covering the edits you confirm, until you remove the card or close your account. Payments are processed by Stripe; we keep only your card brand and last four digits. You can update your card any time in Profile → Billing.
7. Prices. Current prices are always shown in the app before you confirm an order or an edit. We may change prices, but never retroactively — the price shown when you order or confirm is the price you pay.
8. Refunds and re-runs. If an edit fails or produces nothing usable, you aren't charged. If a delivered result isn't right, tell us and we'll put it right, with a refund where we still can't deliver — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Rooam doesn't hold stored-value credit; any goodwill adjustment is applied to your statement.
9. Changes and contact. We may update these Billing Terms; for material changes we'll notify you before they take effect and update the version above. Billing questions: billing@rooam.app. Nothing here limits rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986 that can't lawfully be excluded; where you acquire the service in trade, our Terms of Service set out the agreed position.
